SUMMER CINEMA AND COURTYARD EVENINGS

At Villa Fabris in Thiene, Vicenza, Italy, the summer evening continues behind a Neoclassical façade with Corinthian columns and statues above the pediment. In the park, Cinema in Aperta Città brings films outdoors after dinner. The 2026 programme scheduled screenings at 21:30 in July and 21:00 in August, making the villa garden an address to remember when planning things to do in Vicenza at night. [1][2] The courtyard has its own evening programme. TalkOut hosts conversations about books, music and contemporary culture, with the 2026 encounters beginning at 21:15. Guests included Flavio Parisi, a writer living in Tokyo who teaches Italian diction to Japanese opera singers and appears on NHK’s Cool Japan. His book about understanding Japan through its food brought another country’s everyday life into an Italian villa courtyard. [3]

SPRING APERITIVO AND ITALIAN MAKERS

Spring brings OPUS, a curated market of contemporary Italian craft, independent design, fashion and illustration. It is an opportunity to meet the people behind the objects and browse their work in the villa’s outdoor spaces. [7][8] Other dates continue into the evening. For Europe Day in May 2026, the villa hosted an aperitivo followed by Fola de Raisa, a performance combining music and stories rooted in the early twentieth century. The programme is documented by ALDA, the European Association for Local Democracy. [4]

AUTUMN WINE AND LIVE MUSIC

An autumn visit can combine the house with wines made in the surrounding province. A previous Giornata delle Ville Venete opening paired a villa visit with a tasting by Transit Farm, a winery in Fara Vicentino, accompanied by food from the villa’s kitchen. [5] October has also brought Oktober Tirol Fest, with Tyrolean food, beer, live bands and DJ evenings in a heated marquee. These are different ways to experience the same estate, from a late afternoon tasting to music after dark. [6]

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING INSIDE THE VILLA

For Christmas markets in Vicenza, OPUS offers the pleasure of browsing contemporary Italian craft inside a historic house. Its winter edition occupies the villa’s rooms and salons, bringing independent makers, illustration, fashion and design into spaces normally associated with a villa visit. Admission to the market is free. [7][8] The announced OPUS Winter Edition takes place on 12 and 13 December 2026. Confirm the opening hours before planning an evening visit. [9]
