BREAKFAST WITH A VIEW · ASIAGO, VICENZA
Sunrise yoga and breakfast with the mountains stretching across the horizon
Summer mornings in the Vicenza mountains, with breakfast prepared by the chalet’s chef
In the mountains north of Vicenza, the Asiago Plateau spreads across a broad green basin framed by wooded ridges. Breakfast with a view here takes in Asiago’s rooftops, open pastures and Monte Grappa on the horizon. On selected summer mornings, a terrace above the town hosts outdoor yoga at sunrise and breakfast, an experience to seek out when planning a mountain holiday in northern Italy.

Why It’s Worth the Journey
The primary reason to travel to Chalet Europa at dawn is the contrast between the stillness of the mountain and the awakening valley below. Located in Contrada Büscar on Monte Interrotto, the venue overlooks a natural amphitheater at an altitude that clears the morning mist. While the town of Asiago is still asleep, the terrace offers a direct, clear view of the entire basin, framed by the peaks of Melette, Monte Grappa, Valbella, Ekar, and Törle. Practicing here means experiencing the mountain air at its crispest moment, watching the landscape shift from pale silver tones into bright summer green.
The Yoga Practice
The sessions are led by certified instructors, such as the teachers from Chandra Yoga Asiago, and generally focus on Hatha or Vinyasa Flow. The practice focuses on slow, deep breathing (Pranayama) and gentle fluid movements to awaken the body without sudden strains in the cool 5:30 am temperature. The flow is structured to adapt to the rising sun, ending with a long relaxation (Savasana) just as the first sunlight hits the terrace mats. The session is fully accessible to beginners while providing a unique setting for advanced practitioners.
The Mountain Breakfast
After the final relaxation, the practice moves directly to the panoramic tables for a breakfast curated by the chalet’s kitchen. This is not a standard hotel buffet, but a meal based on 0 km regional products and seasonal mountain ingredients. It includes:
- Freshly baked alpine breads and artisanal jams.
- Local organic honey and dairy products from the surrounding plateau pastures.
- Genuinely prepared pastries paired with hot coffee, mountain tea, and fresh fruit juices.
Practical Details & Timing
- Schedule: The event begins strictly at 5:30 am to ensure participants are settled on their mats before the sun crosses the horizon. The practice lasts roughly an hour, followed immediately by breakfast.
- What to bring: A personal yoga mat and a warm fleece or layered clothing are required, as early morning alpine temperatures can be very low.
- Access: The chalet is highly accessible. It is a short 5-minute drive from the historic center of Asiago, or a quick walk through the ancient districts starting from the Lumera lake path.
Good to know before you go
Good to Know for TravelersThe Last Mile: The chalet is accessed via Via Büscar. Once you pass the small San Domenico church, follow the road until it narrows. After a local woodshed, you will see the Ogherant farm. Turn right onto a short gravel track to reach the designated parking area. The Final Walk: You cannot park right next to the tables. From the parking lot, expect a brief 150-meter walk along a flat dirt path to reach the chalet terrace. Keep this in mind if carrying your own heavy yoga equipment.Weather & Attire: Because the practice takes place at 5:30 am on a mountain slope, early morning temperatures are regularly crisp, even at the height of July and August. Dress in layers and do not rely on summer activewear alone.Pet Policy: The outdoor terrace is dog-friendly, but since these events involve open-air relaxation, it is best to check with the staff when booking if you plan to bring a pet.
