LIVE MUSIC AND WINE IN A PRINCELY VILLA

A harp and saxophone concert, a tasting of local wines and specialities, and a guided visit through a former princely residence: Note e Sapori nelle Terre del Guà brings all three into one evening at Villa San Fermo in Lonigo, in Vicenza province, Veneto, northern Italy. The villa overlooks the town at the edge of the Colli Berici, in the territory promoted as the Terre del Guà, encompassing Lonigo, Sarego and Alonte. [1,2,5]

The programme announced for 17 October 2026 features Duo Amarcord, whose harp and saxophone arrangements revisit pop melodies, film soundtracks and rock classics. Choose the 18:00 or 19:30 session; the advertised price is €20 per person, including the concert, tasting and guided visit. [1,2]

WHERE EINAUDI RECORDED EXPERIENCE

Villa San Fermo already has a place in international music collections. Presto Music’s Decca catalogue credits the villa as the recording venue for “Experience”, from Italian pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi’s In a Time Lapse, released in 2013. [3] American opera singer Joyce DiDonato also recorded Drama Queens here with Il Complesso Barocco and conductor Alan Curtis. The French publication Forum Opéra identifies the recording sessions at Villa San Fermo in July 2012. An evening concert here comes with a musical history that extends well beyond Lonigo. [4]

THE PRINCESS’S MUSIC ROOM

The villa’s interiors give the guided visit its own appeal. In the Sala della Musica, the princess once listened to chamber music and piano performances beneath painted flowers and an image of Flora, the goddess of spring. [5] The library offers another story overhead: Paolo and Francesca, the lovers condemned in Dante’s Inferno, appear in a ceiling painting by nineteenth century artist Mosè Bianchi, above the original cherry wood furnishings. These rooms belonged to the Giovanelli princes, who remodelled an earlier monastic complex into their country residence. Ask which interiors are included in your visit. [5]

CANDLELIT CONCERTS AND SUMMER CINEMA

Other documented evenings show how the programme changes with the seasons. CandeLive on 20 March 2026 brought violin, cello, piano and voice into a candlelit concert, with music associated with John Lennon, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan and other artists. The municipal listing recorded the event as sold out. [6] On 21 July 2026, the villa hosted an outdoor screening of My Best Friend, beginning at 21:15, as part of Lonigo’s free summer cinema programme. Both are past editions worth watching for in future calendars. [7]
