About
On the third Sunday of the month from May to October, Asiago’s historic centre becomes one of Vicenza’s most unusual collecting addresses: an antiques market at 1,001 metres above sea level.
Rare books sit beside vintage typewriters, old coins, ceramics, jewellery, furniture and collectables along Via Trento Trieste, Via Jacopo Scajaro and the streets around the centre.
THE STORY
For collectors who like to map Italy and Europe through old books, print, design and objects the setting is part of the appeal: Asiago is located at 1,001 metres on the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities, in the mountains of Vicenza. Six Sundays between May and October add a very different reason to come up: browsing old paper, typewriters, ceramics and domestic objects in a mountain town better known internationally for its cheese, landscape and winter culture. The Mercatino dell’Antiquariato e del Collezionismo runs through the historic centre, particularly Via Trento Trieste and Via Jacopo Scajaro. Official listings specifically mention rare books, vintage typewriters, antique furniture, ceramics, jewellery, coins and collectables.

Best time Morning, before the best books and small collectables have been picked over. The market runs through the historic centre and takes place outdoors throughout the day. Dates can change, so check the local calendar before travelling.
