THE STORY
At Acropark Roana, the forest course takes you out over open water. This treetop adventure park on the Asiago Plateau, in Vicenza province, combines suspended crossings and aerial obstacles with a zipline circuit across Lake Lonaba, a small mountain lake in northern Italy.
There are eight courses and 116 activities across 1,300 metres of routes. You move between platforms attached to trees, negotiating obstacles that test balance, coordination and grip. The choice of course matters: some introduce the basics close to the ground, while others demand considerably more strength and confidence at height.
ZIPLINE ACROSS THE LAKE
The Zip Circle is the reason to put this particular adventure park on your itinerary. Its cables take you across the lake and back, exchanging the enclosed woodland for a flight above open water.
The operator advertises a 300 metre zipline circuit. Access requires a minimum age of 10, a height of at least 140 cm and a weight of at least 50 kg, so check everyone’s eligibility before planning the visit around the lake crossing.
BRAVES ONLY: THE HARDER CHALLENGE
For adults and older teenagers looking for a more demanding ropes course, Braves Only is the black circuit. Participants need the strength to support their body weight with their arms and confidence working at height. The course includes Gigajump, a jump from 10 metres.
The published minimum age is 16, with a minimum height of 140 cm and admission subject to the instructor’s assessment.
PLAN YOUR SESSION
Equipment, an introductory briefing and a practice course come before the aerial routes. The basic ticket gives you two hours; individual courses typically take between 20 and 60 minutes, depending on your ability. Longer tickets allow more time to try different circuits.
For an active stop on a northern Italy road trip, come for the combination of treetop challenges and the lake crossing. Friends can choose courses suited to their confidence and fitness, while experienced participants have the harder circuit to work towards.
