BUNGEE JUMPING IN ITALY · VICENZA

Italy’s highest bungee jump, 175 metres above a gorge in Vicenza

A mountain gorge, limestone cliffs and Italy’s highest bungee launch.

Italy’s highest bungee jumping site is on Vicenza’s Asiago Plateau, where Ponte di Valgadena spans a deep mountain gorge between Foza and Enego. American wildlife presenter Jeff Corwin once jumped here to illustrate the diving flight of a peregrine falcon. Today, scheduled sessions let you experience the same setting, with a launch point advertised at 175 metres and the limestone walls of the valley below.

About

Between Foza and Enego, the Valgadena bridge crosses a deep mountain gorge on the Asiago Plateau. For bungee jumpers, the important number is 175 metres. The current operator promotes it as Italy’s highest bungee jump, with a first rebound of around 130 metres. The registration point and jumping operation are on the Foza side of the bridge.

The Valgadena bridge opened in 1990, improving the road connection between Foza and Enego across a steep gorge on Vicenza’s Asiago Plateau. Four years later, adventure sports organiser Ivan Pontarollo recognised its potential as a bungee site. Jumping began in June 1994. As reported by Italian newspaper La Stampa, American wildlife presenter Jeff Corwin jumped from the bridge while filming a sequence about the peregrine falcon’s dive.

THE JUMP

The launch point is advertised at 175 metres above the gorge, placing Valgadena at the top of Italy’s established bungee sites. The operator describes a first rebound of around 130 metres, with the experience unfolding between the valley’s rock faces and wooded slopes.

Registration and preparation take place on the Foza side of the bridge. Arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment, allowing time for the team’s instructions and the formalities before your jump. Wear comfortable shoes and layers suitable for mountain weather.

BEFORE YOU BOOK↓

How do I book the Valgadena bungee jump?

Choose a date from the operator’s published calendar and submit a booking request. Your place is confirmed after contact with the team on WhatsApp. Arrange the jump before fixing the rest of your travel plans.

What should visitors from abroad check?

Read the operator’s medical restrictions and confirm the documents required for your booking. Its preparation instructions state that people resident outside Italy are exempt from the sports medical certificate requirement. Confirm that exemption with the team when reserving.

Can I have the jump filmed?

The operator offers photographs and video as paid extras. Choose the package when arranging your visit, particularly if you are travelling with friends and want footage of each person’s jump.

MAKE AN OUTDOOR WEEKEND OF IT ↓

Rafting on the Brenta gives an adventure weekend in Vicenza a second setting, on the river below the plateau. Ivan Team offers guided rafting trips from Solagna, with its centre at Via Fontanazzi 1.

There is a connection behind the pairing: Ivan Pontarollo established the rafting operation before introducing bungee jumping at Valgadena. Book the activities separately and check that their operating dates coincide.
