FOREST MUSHROOMS ON THE MENU ↓

Porcini, finferli (chanterelles) and chiodini (honey mushrooms) are among the woodland varieties celebrated by Tesori del Bosco & Rosso di Breganze, an autumn food and wine festival bringing together eight restaurants across Vicenza province.

At Ca’ Nardello, a contemporary Italian restaurant and wine bar in Bassano del Grappa, the celebration takes the form of a dedicated mushroom tasting menu, available from 26 October to 1 November 2026.

VICENZA'S FIRST DOC WINE ↓

There is a wine story behind the menu.

In 1969, Breganze became the first wine denomination in Vicenza province to receive Italy's Denominazione di Origine Controllata, or DOC, designation. The production area extends across the foothills of Vicenza, between the Astico and Brenta river valleys. Its red wines include Breganze DOC Rosso, described by the local wine consortium as a dry, full bodied, ruby red wine. The autumn festival celebrates this regional wine alongside the mushroom harvest, bringing two distinctive expressions of Vicenza's food culture to the table.

AN AUTUMN FOOD EXPERIENCE IN BASSANO DEL GRAPPA ↓

Ca’ Nardello describes its cooking as Contemporary Vineria & Cucina, combining regional Italian ingredients with a modern approach.

Its name means Nardello's House in Venetian, a small reference to the local culture behind the restaurant. For food lovers planning an autumn trip to Italy, this tasting menu offers another reason to explore Vicenza beyond its famous architecture, especially for travellers researching local wine experiences, seasonal restaurants and lesser known places to eat near Venice.
